    Chinchilla pellets

I wouldn't recommending doing that, their digestive system is pretty delicate so switching food should be done slowly over a few weeks if possible. The recommended way to switch is 1/4 per week, so 1/4 new 3/4 old the first week, if no digestive upset then you can do 1/2 and 1/2 the next week...

    Not eating hay

So long as the hay hasn't been peed on it's best not to change it out daily. Tossing hay is normal, mine will toss through the whole hay feeder but will go back and eat the tossed hay later. You can try different hay holders, some do better with the hay hanging in a hay holder, others prefer it...

    A whole new world :)

Loofah is fine, they are more of a shred/chew toy then a treat though. You just want to make sure it's 100% organic loofah not the kind they sell for humans to use for bathing, those ones tend to be bleached which makes them unsafe to eat. The Zoey and Lilo's Toy Box store I linked in another...

    Anyone in Canada?

I live in Northern Alberta. If you are looking for another store that sells more safe products (flower town sells mostly things you can get in a pet store and most things are not safe/good for them) Check out Zoey and Lilo's Toy Box

    Chinchilla pellets

The Oxbow Essentials is considered by many to be the best chinchilla pellet you can get. The Garden Select isn't as bad as it use to be (use to have fruits and veggies in it) but still not really good. The biggest thing is chinchilla food should ideally be alfalfa based, it's the primary source...

    Holes in water bottles

Glass water bottles are what is recommended for chins. I have had luck with the Living World bottles https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71-J-llfOdL._AC_SL1500_.jpg but other brands like Kaytee (the bottles seem to be hit or miss), Oxbow, and Lixit are a few name brands I can think of off hand.

    Chinchilla Poo Cleaning

    This is what I use as a litter pan it's a 8 x 11 inch (about 20 x 28 cm) glass baking pan, I would say you want something at least 8 x 8 inches (20 x 20 cm).

    Chinchilla Poo Cleaning

Not all chins will pee in a pan or dish. "Pee training" chins is really more a situation of putting a pan of shavings where they already pick to pee, most chins pick a corner, and they pee there because it happens to be in their pee spot. If they don't pick a spot sometimes you can get lucky if...

    would these items be safe

Mostly look at it, for example the taco loofah thing you can look and see if you see globs of glue (which it likely has or it would just fall apart). That house is not safe just from being made a fir alone, fir is not a chin safe wood. Also unless you linked the wrong one it's also nowhere near...

    Hay

It just needs to be primarily timothy hay, brand doesn't matter as long as it's feed hay (not decoration hay like from a craft store) and your chin eats it. Chins can be picky on what brand they like.

Wet Chinchilla but not Teeth Issues

I unfortunately really don't know either, I've never dealt with that or read of anyone else. Normal cause for drooling would be a teeth issue or pain. If the chin got heatstroke and it resulted in brain damage then yes it could effect her for awhile, possibly for the rest of her life, but if you...

How can I make playtime more interesting?

I'm not even sure you would beable to find a 15-16" plastic wheel anyway (normally the biggest they go is 12"), let alone a stand alone one, but playtime is for running around so I wouldn't bother with a wheel. You can get tunnels, even those cheap cat tunnels sold at dollar stores can work...

    Dehumidifier

That's great it worked out, dehumidifiers aren't too complicated so it's probably like a fan where brand doesn't really matter that much. That "120 rule" is pretty much crap anyway, it makes no sense since it would mean that chins would be fine in high temps so long as the humidity is low, which...

    Dehumidifier

I don't really have any suggestions, I don't use dehumidifiers, personally I would just read the reviews, the good and bad to see what people say about it. I do know they give off heat when used though, so keep a close eye on the temp, you may need to turn the AC down or only run the...

    Meet Ruby!❤

I would not bond them unless you get Chico neutered, which is a risky surgery. Mating literally takes a split second, hop on hop off and the deed is done, so unless you make sure they don't ever come within 6" of each other it can happen too fast to stop it. Also even if you do neuter Chico...

    Hello again, I'm Back.

He doesn't look dark enough for brown velvet to me, I also don't see any veiling but it's hard to tell from the pictures (I'm also not an expert on colors). Brown velvets are also pretty uncommon, not a lot of people seem to breed for them, but not impossible to get. If your old wheels are...

    Hello again, I'm Back.

I can't really see the belly though, but looks white? If so would say beige, definitely not a standard grey. The wheel is ok, but do tend to be narrow, for most chins so long as it's at least 4" it's ok, it's the width that most of the recommended wheels are (it should also be 15-16"...

    Chinchilla Excessively Drooling

There is always a risk when putting small animals under, I do agree, but there really is no other way to check the roots of the teeth, and without at least sedating them most vets can get a good clear look at the crowns of the teeth either (it does depend on the chin though). It's great that it...

    Chinchilla Excessively Drooling

Unfortunately there is obviously something wrong, either in the mouth or with the teeth, which does include the roots. Are either vet experienced with chinchillas? I realize most are not. Although not as common sometimes the roots do grow without any real noticeable crown growth, so x-rays are...

What do you do with your used Aspen Shavings?

When I put new plants in the ground I mix the poos with the soil before I put it in. Otherwise I just spread it over top before watering or before it rains so it kind of works itself into the soil.
