I always thought that it was because they were both kind of rare as pets. I know that chins need it cool, but the hedgies need it warm...making chins the perfect pet for Middle Aged Babes like me who are hot ALL the time!!! ;)

Chins are groomed for shows by holding them by their tails. The show animals get used to it. I find that my pets are a little horrified by the experience, but I do it only when I have to.
