I see no issue with it, as long as the dog leaves the cage alone. The chin should get used to it eventually. Mine were always fine with other animals in the room. As long as the chin remains in the cage, it should be fine.

Chins under 6 months shouldn't be getting out of cage time. Kits tend to play themselves into seizures because they don't know when to stop. They need to use their energy for growing, not playing. A very limited amount of out of cage time in a small area should be fine, but 20 minutes is far too...

I use Small Pet Select with no issues, it was always a hit.
