    Hedgie needs an audience?

So we've been home with Willow (9 mos old) a week and a half. We are enjoying her a lot! She is curious and friendly. We take her out a few times a day and she walks around the coffee table, checking in with whatever human is watching her every few minutes. We take out her wheel and she seems to...

    Wheel type?

Seal it? What is a safe sealant? My chins are pretty bad about potting on their wheels and shelves too, one in particular. The chins' wheels are metal but the shelves are pine. I was actually wondering about pure beeswax recently? My hedgie, Willow, is not a chewer at all. At least so far...

    How much food?

I'm just guessing, but possibly the reason that volume measures are inaccurate is because the shape and density of different kibbles will affect the result. But if you weigh the particular kibble you use a few times, THEN measure the volume, you should get a good idea of the scoop size you need...

    Wheel type?

I'm a longtime chin owner who just got a hedgie! She is in a travel cage at the moment because we are, um, traveling. 😊 I have had up to 6 chins but only have two now. Small, hard poops

that I left in her bowl last night. She did take a good amount from the syringe last night. About 2 tsp of dry Critical Care total, mixed with enough water to get it into the syringe. She was also willing to eat the treats I hand fed yesterday, including one shredded wheat I gave her after the...

    Small, hard poops

Hello, I have posted here in the past but its been awhile. My oldest chin, Poppet, is sick. She is 11- middle aged I guess. Noticed yesterday that her pellets were not eaten and water seem to be going too slow. Poops are small and hard, and there are not many. I gave her a couple of raisins...

    Housing needs for older chin

I tried searching for this, but the terms were too general- words like 'old' and 'senior' are used in many contexts. I have homemade multi-level cages for my 3 chins, all built to standards found through the precursor to this forum, chinsnquills. My daughter works with an animal education...
