Hi guys What's your view on out of cage time. Is it true chins remain happy without ever roaming free but having a large cage and exercise wheel to keep them happy. Or do you believe all chins should be free from the cage daily.

Yep most chinchillas are a sit back and watch them play type. The good thing is that they don't need to be held to be socialised. Scratching them, feeding them, letting them jump on you when you clean the cage out is plenty socialisation. However if she's biting you may want to simply keep...

Thanks for your reply I have just ordered the Blenheim tall Rat cage it's 140cm tall by 79cm by 52cm I think. So much bigger but fits into the space I have.

Hey all Do I have to keep the chin wheel close to the bottom of the cage, it takes up floor space would I be able to put it about half way up the cage or is this dangerous??
