yes, I've made it through over 50 pages of that thread and found maybe 2 cages without the middle pan and actually half the pages are just comments and not pics of cages at all. :(
I know there are tons of photo threads but I can't find too many who have a double unit without the middle cutout floor in. PLEASE share pics if you are using a cage without it!
Is there such a thing? No matter what I put on the corners my chin destroys her cage with the traditional fleece liners laying in the bass pan. I tried to make some version of what I'm looking for - took a 2 layer liner and sewed a giant piece of fleece to it to make sort of a pillow case...
I was tempted to glue mine onto the ring for a while there, but now it is just slightly under the ceramic hay holder next to it and that seems to be enough to discourage the tipping… which is saying something for my stubborn chin who usually finds a way around anything!!!
I had one of those covered bird feeder dishes but my chin knocks it over constantly and when I tried mounting it to the cage its never tight enough and she'll jump onto it and turn it upside down. I was going to either get a heavy ceramic bowl that maybe she won't tip over (not likely since she...
I have one sitting here to go back too. I bought a super pet when we got our chin but its pretty small so when we were going to be away a few days I picked up a larger one but it was Kaytee brand. Didn't think it would be any different. Ended up not being able to use it because it leaks...
called the 2 feed stores I could find through google and neither carry rabbit/chinchilla stuff - only horse stuff. We are in a very suburban/city area - not much need for feed stores.
I feel like she's not eating much hay or pellets and was hoping to find better quality stuff online since I...
I can't find anything local except kaytee and oxbow. Use oxbow because I read that was the better of the 2 but my chin doesn't seem to like it much. She hardly eats any hay and usually dumps the pellets so I can't tell how much she's eating. I'd like to find a place to order online but not in...
Yup, she's a stubborn little thing! It just worries me because she stays under there forever, shouldn't she be running around more?? I am afraid she's going to overheat or get squished under a chin chiller or something.
she was just getting under it - and she would stay under there. Problem is it knocks over everything in the cage and makes a big mess and then she has no food because she won't really eat it off the ground mixed with hay and poop!
I thought I solved the problem for a while. I was putting her...
I've tried a few different things for hay so far and am happiest with using one of these bird dish things...

I have a covered one for food and one...
I've only had my chin a little while but I can't see when I'd ever need to really hose down the cage. I have a ferret nation cage and wipe it down with a wet (water/vinegar) wash cloth once in a while, mostly to get the dust from their dust bath off of it.
Daily cleaning includes vacuuming...
We've had our chin for about a month now, for the first few weeks she didn't touch the fleece but now she has gotten into the habit of pulling it up and getting under it constantly. She makes a disaster area of her cage every day, spills her food out, etc.. I bought another chin chiller to try...
