    Eye problem :(

My chin seems to have an eye problem :( We noticed yesterday it was looking a bit iffy but thought he'd just mushed the fur up around it (He mushes his fur all the time) but today we've been noticing he keeps closing it whereas the other one is perfectly wide and normal. Also the fur around the...

    Happy squeaks?

So this morning as I was getting ready for work, Cesare was hopping about happily as he does, sticking his nose through his cage trying to get my attention. Then he hopped up on one of his ledges and made the sweetest teeny tiny squeaks I have ever heard in my life. Then when I went over to give...

    Do your chins do this?

Cesare likes to sleep with his legs hanging down with his bum in the air. It's hilarious!

    Chinchilla Tantrums?

My Cesare is a bit of a drama queen, and will shove stuff out of the way if he doesn't want it. He also chucks stuff away from him in utter disgust. The best tantrum he's had was a few weeks ago when he angrilly decided to move his cool block. This is granite, and he grabbed it with his teeth...

    Sticky, moist stools

My male chin had the same problem after we brought him some new hay - it was meadow hay and his poos got all smushy and he smushed loads into his shelves. We took it away and gave him timothy hay and now all seems to be well. Hope your chin is ok and wishing you all the best x

warning calls when asleep. SO CUTE!

Just sitting here watching the telly and surfing, and lil Cesare who was perfectly asleep and looking adorable started making the warning call - I wonder what he's dreaming about? Does anyone elses chins do this when they're asleep? I just melted into a ball of epic cuteness.#:) :dance3:

    Making modifications to the cage

oooh good idea! Can you get full hammocks? He has his corner one which he snoozes on. I'm rubbish with woodwork so wouldn't know where to start with making a new level lol. Thanks :) He is a total sweetie.

    Question/Advice on Holding

Ah thank you for this. My Cesare is a chronic wiggler when I try and pick him up and I've been wondering how to go about training him a bit more. Our old chin was so against holding that I was never allowed to pick him up (plus living at home with the parentals, their words was law ha!) so this...

Whos chins bang and pull on cage doors when wanting out???

My Cesare hasn't started banging and rattling the doors yet but when he wants out he starts leaping up towards the latch and giving us puppy dog eyes. If we don't let him out he starts squeaking...

    Making modifications to the cage

ello ello So you'll all remember the issues I was having with my chin chewing his ramps not so long back. Today I spent an hour wrestling with them before managing to get them off. What do you guys think? My only concern now is that he's getting a little too over enthusiastic with leaping...

    Covering plastic ramps with fleece?

Thanks guys. I'll have a play at taking them out tomorrow when I'm more awake - we just tried to work out how to remove one of them, got annoyed and the little scamps thought it would be a fun game to escape!

    Covering plastic ramps with fleece?

Thanks you guys Attached a pic of the cage - am worried the shelves may be too far apart? Plus, they're made of plastic too, but he hasn't chewed on them...yet... (The pic is from when we first got the cage, it's got other stuff in it now, a couple of wooden ledges, hammock etc) Have given him...
