I brought her back from my parent’s house and she stopped scratching and biting the next day so the fleas must be gone. Luckily this house only has wood and tile floors so there’s nothing for fleas to hide in here.

I have not seen the fleas on her but she has not stopped scratching and biting at her fur. I also found a flea in her dust bath.

I got her to sit still in my hand during playtime and she let me examine her eye more closely, I pulled a bit of gunk out of her fur that was holding her eye shut and she seemed much better after.

I don’t know what it is but she does still seem to have something stuck in her eye, sometimes it seems to be bothering her and other times it doesn’t, is it safe for me to try removing it or should I just leave it alone?

This is very possible, her cage is set in one of the main rooms on the ground floor with the living room being right next to it. Recently my brother has started turning the volume really high while playing CoD which I’m sure is interrupting her sleep. I notice she also tends to be grumpy when...

Update: It looks like she managed to open her eye all the way after all. Guess I overreacted. Though she has had a bit of fur stuck in her eye for a few days, is it anything to worry about?

Today while saying hello to my chin I noticed one of her eyes won’t open all the way. It’s clearly effecting her vision as she seems to stumble and miss ledges on the one side. It looks like a bit of fur is holding her eye shut, but she won’t let anyone touch it. What should I do about this?

She doesn’t pull her own fur out. Just any time it does fall out she eats it

I’ve noticed my chinchilla’s ears have been getting rather dry and a little jagged, I looked up some things I can use to cure it, the main two things I found were bag balm and vitamin E tablets, but I also have a large jar of coconut oil and was wondering if it would be ok to use that?
