I know it's late but I just want to update people that might have similar issues that the infection was treated with the chloramphenicol and his teeth have resolved itself. His incisors actually started aligning again after that. We hadn't done any x-rays to look at the back to confirm, but he's...
Hi all. Posted about uneven incisors a while ago, and my vet suggested a CT that revealed that the right back molar is infected--very small. Funny enough...she also mentioned that the uneven incisors are correcting themselves slowly. She doesn't think the root infection will reprise for a while...
@ticklechin: unsure. The way the the vet explained it to me was that there was a little bit of space around the root that is infected. I'll ask her again.
@godofgods: $470 in Culver City California.
So we've had the CT. They revealed the last molar on his right upper is a bit swollen at the root!!! The vet predicts this will be recurring and I'm trying not to be a little let down at the news. He was sedated for the scan and he's taking a while to bounce back. Appetite is a little down so...
Is there some way uneven incisors could right itself? Obv im opting for a professional scan just to rule things out but he's chewing so voraciously on hay now...with no signs of pain. He also chewed a bit of apple stick i held for him. Am i getting my hopes up?? @godofgods a ct scan is taken...
Can I just rec to anyone out there listening to take your pet in for routine dental. We may have not even caught this had he not been in recently for something else.

Well...the thing ive been fearing has reared its ugly head. I rushed him to emergency when he stopped eating all of a sudden last wknd and his poops got smaller and smaller. They found nothing. I fed him 2 days on cc but discontinued because he seemed on the upswing and i wanted him to eat...
My chinchilla has always had a sensitive stomach. so he's had issues with feces that never was indicative of a larger issue (parasites of enteritis or anything...) A week ago, he actually got into a wire and chewed it up. it was the wire to a digital thermostat i kept near his cage (my mom was...
yeah i mix different grass hays by oxbow with his timothy...i think i might need to start looking for a local supplier but i'm uneasy buying hay from here
So I'm needing ways to give my baby a little bit more fiber...he is so bad at eating hay...
i wanted to try critical care, but he will not eat it in wet form and basically every attempt to feed it to him ends in a goopy fur stained mess.
i was thinking that maybe i can just sprinkle in onto his...
