I made these hay cookies, your opinion is greatly appreciated.

This is fantastic! I'm going to write this recipe down. Should this be fed in moderation since it's using oats?

Chin emergency! Diarrhea or blood? Assistance needed!

Susan, it does look like a chewed up piece of wood. She did have some red kool-aid dyed sticks the other day, would that be a culprit, or even possible?

Chin emergency! Diarrhea or blood? Assistance needed!

Thanks for your help everyone. I think I'll take in a stool sample, and if I'm still freaking out then I'll take in a urine. You guys are more experienced than I, so I will take your advice.

Chin emergency! Diarrhea or blood? Assistance needed!

@Riven, yes, it is. Ok, I'll call the vet tomorrow and see if they can do a fecal for her, without her being there. @tunes, the medicine was Neomycin and Polymyxin B Sulfates, Bacitarin Zinc and Hydrocorisone Opthalmic Ointment USP. @AZ Chins her poop isn't mushy, but she hasn't been pooping...

Chin emergency! Diarrhea or blood? Assistance needed!

It was on her fleece liner, and I've never seen it like this before. One spot has the consistency, the other looks like it has dried a little. The treatment was an ointment, let me run down and get it. Picture of her bottom picture of the unknown substance

Chin emergency! Diarrhea or blood? Assistance needed!

We just came back from vacation and Zia was being treated for hair-loss around her eye, the treatment was working because I came back home and her hair was back, BUT, I noticed some unknown liquid on the bottom of her cage. It looks and has the consistency of BBQ sauce, but I know for a fact...

Chin has a red toe + dry nose

What kind of ointment were you given? Zia is having a similar situation, but it's near her eyes and i was given a certain eye-area cream to treat her with for a week. It worked the first time, but i'm always paranoid.

    A CritterNation for Two!

That is the coolest cage that I have ever seen. I wish my chins were potty trained :( I'm still using fleece, and after a while you have to replace it since it sometimes gets holes in the washer.

Prices of twigs, is this for real?!

I made a batch of grapevines the other night and boiled them for a couple hours, actually. I forgot about them and then put them in the oven. They were already well scrubbed before hand, so all I needed to do was boil them. Do you think I could break some fresh grapevines off, bend them into...

Unsure about hair loss around eye!

@Cuddlebug Holy crap, I didn't even know that. That would explain so much. Does anyone know approximately how much it will cost for the skin test? I know it varies, but how much did it cost for you/do you have any idea?

    Sages toe bitten off

Oh my, I wonder what happened in the cage. Did it look like she caught it on something and hat to chew it off in order to get out? I would contact your vet immediately, even if you can't get in until Monday. Infections can spread in humans in under a matter of minutes when a finger is...

Unsure about hair loss around eye!

Thanks for your input! This comforts me a lot, I was thinking the worst possible situation. I'll still take her to the vet, but in the mean time I will buy some tinactin foot powder.

Unsure about hair loss around eye!

My chinchilla, Zia, his suffering from hair loss around her eye. She has had this before and i was given some ointment for it and it cleared right up, however it's back and getting progressively worse. It does look a little flaky, so I suspect that it's fungus. I also noticed a tad bit hair...

@Renee I live about a half hour west from Frederick. @Peachy thanks! I'll look into them, too.
