Question Deworming

Does guinea pig dewormer work on hedgehogs? If not, is there any substitute I could buy? My hedgehog loves to go outside!

I have never heard of hedgehogs needing dewormer. I take my hedgie outside all the time and never had a problem.

Agreed. Typically, hedgies do not need a de-wormer. That would only be something you'd use because a problem was detected and hedgie is under a vet's care.

I really wouldn't mix and match meds between species... it's odd in that some things that are fine for one are deadly in another. Consider "ivomec / ivermectin" that's used for killing mites: fine for other species, but has a history of greatly harming and killing hedgehogs.

grin Oh Good!

Thank goodness! I heard someone say, "be careful! If your hedgehog goes outside he will get lots of parasites and worms!" And I got really scared!
