I expected them to look more ragged then that. My fur chewer looks worse. :p

Very cute to see them in their natural environment.
 
call me crazy, but I don't think those animals are all wild, or even all in the wild. Some of them appear to have the modified agouti pattern known as the chinchilla pattern which appeared sometime during the early years of captivity. Others do appear to have more of a wild type agouti pattern, and may very well be wild caught chins, but it appears they are living in a zoo or sanctuary of some sort. For example that dust pile is too perfect, someone put that there, and that alone has them looking much better then they normally would.
 
I agree that it looks like a zoo exhibit or something. I have seen pictures of them in the wild and they were much skinnier and longer, and had rattier fur.
