Breech born kits are not uncommon and can result in injury or death to the mother and/or baby. This morning I witnessed and assisted with a footling breech. After washing and unraveling the mass that the poor mama passed, it was only then I realized what it was. This poor baby was stuck in the birth canal and the mommy chin chewed off it's protruding leg trying to get him out.

The exhausted mother needed assistance to pass the second dead kit.

So...who's ready for breeding cute little chinchillas?

In the literal sense, it's the hind end of the body, or buttocks. When you're speaking of a breech delivery, it means that the kit being born did not present head first as it should've through the birth canal.
