So, I bought a hibiscus this weekend from Home Depot. This morning, I saw that one of the flowers had fallen off. I brought it inside and set it out to dry, but does anyone know if the petals would be safe to feed to a chin once they dry out? (My chin is still too young for treats, but I'd like to know for when he's old enough. I also have an iguana and I've read that they enjoy hibiscus as well, so I'm asking for him too.) It's in a pot on my porch with some potting soil I also got at Home Depot. I haven't sprayed it with anything (pesticides, etc.), but I don't know what happened before I bought it, so maybe I shouldn't feed them any of it, just to be on the safe side... Just wanted some opinions!

Dried hibiscus is safe once the chin is old enough. Since you don't know how your plant was grown, I probably wouldn't use it. Your best bet is to buy it from an organic store.
