So you regularly see people going on about making sure your chinchilla gets enough thiamine to avoid deficiencies but...

What exactly is the dietary requirement of thiamine for chinchillas?
What is the minimum? Is there a maximum?

I've been searching for HOURS and got nothing!

Typical! I've just found a study...

That studied the effects of thiamine from 0mg/kg to 27mg/kg and determined the chinchillas do need thiamine (duh) ... no determination though of the actual amounts *needed* though.

Basically they said anywhere from 6mg/kg to 27mg/kg (and they only tested up to 27mg/kg) was beneficial.

Any nutrient or vitamin that your chin needs should be in your pellets and/or hay. There shouldn't be a need for a supplement. If your feed doesn't have enough nutrients, then you need a new feed, not a supplement.
