Hi everyone,

My husband and I just adopted a 4 1/2 month old albino female hedgie today.
In the spirit of Easter we decided to name her Lily.

We have had several generations of hedgies over 10 years, but this is our first albino. Is there any special care that we should be aware of for her overall well-being?

Thanks and happy holidays,
Rachel

Albino hedgies require the same care as any other colored hedgie. Unlike some other species, being albino doesn't carry any particular risks.

I don't know how true this is but my friend has had many different kind of hedgie's ove the years and she say's in her experience albino's seem to be the calmest of hedgie's

I found that too up until an albino baby born here 4 months ago. She was wonderful until 6 week old quilling then turned into a horrible grump and has not changed back to her former sweet self.

i think the only real concern is anointing.

you can see anointing more clearly on albinos, and may end up with a colorful hog
