Rough, cracked back feet?

My chinchillas was in a wire bottom cage with wire shelves for a couple years before we got her and now her back feet are rough and cracked. What should I do? Is there something I can put on them?

Bag balm works well for cracked feet. Please keep an eye on her feet as chinchillas also get bumblefoot which needs to be treated with medicine. If after using the bag balm, which you should be able to get a local feed store, or tractor supply store, the dryness does not clear up, or if it gets worse and you notice sores, please schedule a vet appt.
 
I'm going to get some too. Came home from vacation and saw a bit of blood in Jesse's cage. Seems his feet are dry. Cleaned the crack and put calendula ointment on it. That remedy works to close a wound and moisturize. Just a warning to anyone reading...do NOT use it on an abcess.
