Default do they need wood to chew on

ok, not sure if i need to put wood in the house for hedgie to chew on, do they need to chew to keep their teeth in check.

No. Hedgehogs are not rodents, and do not need to continually wear their teeth down like a rabbit or guinea pig. Hedgehogs are from the subfamily Erinaceinae, and are insectivores. So your hedgie would much prefer the occasional mealworm to a block of wood!

no, some wood is even poisonous for them to eat. Their teeth do not keep growing
