I have a 3 month old chin and I was told only alfalfa and pellets no timothy or other untill he's an adult.. but now I heard other wise. So my question is... what hay should I be feeding him right now.
Only one type, two, or more different kinds. And how much of each
What finds of hays are there
Once he's an adult what hay do I give him and how much of each.
And when is he considered and adult.
And how to wean him from one to the other onces he's old enough to go to different hay.
Thank u in advance for your input

I was feeding my pair Timothy hay and alfalfa hay together for the first year of their life. They now get as much Timothy hay as they want, because I never want to limit hay intake. Rule of thumb is if you feed alfalfa based pellets they get loose grass hay.

I feed mine Timothy hay and alfalfa too. They seem to do really well on them. Except, when I did start doing this combo it was really expensive as I was just buy from a local store....so started looking online and found this store which is fair.
