Sausage treats?

Hi i am just wondering if it is safe to give sausage/hotdog to my hedgie?
The other day,i was eating sausage bun and Mochi (my hedgie) who was snuggling with me at that time smelled the sausage and tried to bite it like crazy! Like he's gone insane or something. :rofl:
So i gave him a small tiny piece just to calm him down. Luckily it's steamed hotdog.
Is it dangerous? Can anyone tell me :unsure:
 
I honestly do not know if it is dangerous, but I would personally avoid giving those types of treats because of all of the preservatives and fats in them. I think there are meat stick type baby foods in the supermarket that are much better for them. Any other hedgie people given those as treats?
 
I've seen them, but I wouldn't give those meat sticks as treats. I'd just stick to fruits and veggies.
I wouldn't feed hot dogs just because of how many preservatives are in them... and how unhealthy they are.
