Default Chinchilla chewing whiskers

I recently bonded two male chinchillas and noticed that one has very short whiskers. I know that this is a sign of dominance over the other but does this hurt or negatively affect the chinchilla with shorter whiskers?

im not positive on this.. but im guessing no, it doesnt hurt. I know many good breeders that will trim a chins whiskers when trying to pair two chins. I doubt they would all do this if it was hurting them.
