Hi, I want to let me chinnies run around me in my room, but my parents are against having them loose in there. In addition to playtime, is it alright to let them run around in a ball for a little? I want to let them play in my room while I work. I understand that hamster balls are unsafe, so I wouldn’t do it often.
Thanks

No those balls are dangerous, and kind of torture. They are poorly ventilated so a chin can overheat in them in a matter of minutes. Also they can't control their poop so as they are running they are getting pelted with their own poop. If they pee they get coated in that as well and are breathing in the ammonia from the pee.

A much safer idea is to get or make a playpen, then the chins are still contained but has more area to run around.

In addition to that, chins don't run, they hop. It isn't conducive to a chin's natural movement.

Alright thank you, I'll just continue letting them out freely then
