Our little Sebaschin, who's 10, took a turn last week and stopped eating and drinking and was pretty lethargic. We took him to the vet on Wednesday. He's pretty sure it is a GI issue. He's not ruling out dental issues, but from what he could see and feel during the exam, nothing jumped out. (However, I can tell you he stopped chewing his lava stuff a few months ago). He put him on CC feedings.... 5 days of gas drops, 5 days of antibiotic (last day was yesterday am dose), 7 days of motility something and 7 days of pain meds. Sebaschin seems to be feeling much better. He really enjys his dust baths when he's out.. he's pooping more, but not as much as he use too and we let him out, after his feedings for like 15 minutes, 3x a day. He's gotten a lot stronger and is running around and jumping more when he's out. When he's in his cage not so much, he stays in his tube and that's it. He shows no interest in food or water or hay, and not even treats. Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.

if he is not eating, you probably dont want to let him out much. Dont want him burning more calories when he is not eating on his own. If the gi stuff doesnt get him eating on his own you may want to look into xraying the teeth. A visual exam is good for what you can see, but the roots of there teeth can be very problematic if they are acting up. And that can only be seen on a clear dential x-ray. Has there been any watering or damp fur around the eye?
How is he reacting to the hand feeding? Cooperative, fighting, doesnt want to eat it?
